Assignment 2 - Grey box Project
Shelley Middleton - Assignment 2 Grey Box Project
Directions
On the menu page, you can go to the first scene in the project by clicking the "Start first scene" button. Alternatively, you can choose from a menu of all the available scenes by clicking "All scenes menu" (To be implemented with group).
Within the scene, you are able to interact with the bird object by either moving it or rotating it. Next to "Move" you will see a right and left arrow which, when clicked, will move it accordingly. Next to "Rotate" you will see a right and left arrow which will rotate the bird accordingly. At the top of the scene, there is a button you can click to go back to the main menu. Alternatively, there is a right and left arrow at the top of the scene to navigate to another scene.
UX Principles
- Use of consistent colours from the group chosen colour palette
- Feedback given when user hovers over a button (colour change) to indicate that you can interact with the button to click it. The text of the button indicates to the user where they will be taken when they click the button. When controls in the scene are pressed, feedback is given when the object in the scene changes
- Hierarchy of text used in the menu - title text are given a larger font size than the button text
- Controls have been grouped to clearly tell the user what they do. E.g. Left and right move arrows are groups with the "Move" text
- Consistent navigation has been used for the menu and buttons
- Easy to read sans-serif font used for text

Hi shelly, very clean and symmetrical desogn Text is well spaced and the use of whitespace in the menu and hud is really good. i feel like the arrow buttons up the top of the navigation work well in this instance due the the layout of the menu button. it can be infered fro mthe layuot the the top nav affects the entire scene where as the bottom nav only affects the object, great job. On a side note it may be worth setting the menu nav as a different colour to the scene controls, that way when we come to assignment 3 the colour of the scene controls change withthe scene and are different to the navigation bar.
Great work!
Hi Shelly, I really like the detail of your scene. I find your navigation very easy to use, your selection of colours and layout is consistent.
Some feedback I have is that you could change font for the header and capitalize words on your buttons to polish it off.
Overall, very appealing. Can't wait to discuss the final project!
Love the design! I especially love how diverse the environment is! With the buttons, I think it looks better if all the words are capitalized. And with the arrows up the top of the main scene, it is unclear that they are navigation to other scenes (I assume). Otherwise, I really love the layout of the buttons, very appealling. Can't wait to discuss the final project!
